Who
remembers Martin Lickert's
Blues Club behind the Forester's Arms in Wollaston?

Back in the 60's there was what can only be described as a shed at the back of the Forester's Arms in Wollaston, on what is now the car park. Known as the Ranch House, it was used on saturday nights for discos. But on Monday nights Martin Lickert, a good friend of Robert Plant, ran a blues club. Regular visitors to the club included the band Chicken Shack, formed by blues guitarist Stan Webb. The band still performs to this day and enjoyed considerable success in the 60's. Christine Perfect joined the band and married Fleetwood Mac member John McVie. Later, both enjoyed phenomenal worldwide success as members of Fleetwood Mac
