Recently restored paths round Heath Pool, Mary Stevens Park, Stourbridge, June 2016

Rebuilt paths round Heath Pool, Mary Stevens Park, Norton, Stourbridge

Improvements to this beautiful park are now complete, including a new and hugely popular cafe, refurbished main gates and bandstand, dredging of the Heath Pool and much more besides. To celebrate completion of this work there will be a weekend of celebrations this weekend, commencing with an unveiling at 2pm this Friday 10th June 2016. For more info please visit our what's on page.

Stourbridge is incredibly lucky to have this beautiful park, thanks to the benevolence of Mr Ernest Stevens, who gave the Studley Court estate, as it was originally known, to the people of Stourbridge in 1929. He was a millionaire holloware manufacturer (pots and pans to you and me!) and donated the park in memory of his wife Mary. He also gave Stevens Park in nearby Wollescote and built the Mary Stevens Maternity Home in Oldswinford.

Winter 2010 - Tuesday 7th December saw the most severe frost for years, but the end result was stunning. Mary Stevens park looked picture postcard perfect in the sunshine, a great day for photography. More photos of Mary Stevens Park

The 2008 May Day Fun Day - What a great day it was too! In the morning the weather was grim and it looked as if it was in for the day. But it cleared up and even though it was cloudy the rain held off for the rest of the day. The turnout was amazing, there must have been thousands there, congratulations to all involved in it's organisation.
