Forgotten Stourbridge - Stourbridge Conservative Club |
||||||||
![]() |
Doesn't sound a very rock n roll sort of venue - but it was in the 60's! This is one of the venues that local rock star Robert Plant used to play in his pre Led Zeppelin days, as frontman of The Banned. I never went to see them but I do recall school friends at the time saying they saw him play there. Anybody know more? Send us your stories! The Conservative Club building is right opposite the Police Station on Stourbridge Ring Road. |

The front part of the building is quite elegant but there is an unsightly extension at the back, presumably where Mr Plant and his contemporaries performed. Please note this is now the music venue and bar ELEVEN Meanwhile, do you have any recollections, information or memorabilia about the Conservative Club? If so please contact us and we will pass it on. |
