The John Taylor photo collection - Extra large photos

I had the pleasure of meeting local history enthusiast John Taylor recently, John is a Stourbridge man and he has amassed an impressive collection of old photos and documents relating to the town. The photos below are just a small part of John's collection and hopefully we can add more in time. Even though they take a little longer to download we feel it is well worth displaying thses photos at higher resolution, as it reveals a lot more detail. Some of the images you may have seen before but most of them are new to me.

Additionally, John has a sizeable collection of documents that all have some connection to Stourbridge, and this presented us with a challenge, how to present these often heavily worded documents on the web. We decided to list these documents by family name, date and location, on the basis that in most cases these documents will be of interest to people conducting family genealogy research. In time this list will be indexed by Google and researchers will be able to find them in a normal Google search, e.g. Smith family, Stourbridge, 1850. To view this index of documents please scroll down the page below the photographs, then if you find one of interest please email us and I will forward your enquiry on to John
