WHO PUT BELLA IN THE WYCH-ELM? - 75TH ANNIVERSARY EVENT! Stourbridge Town Hall, Sat 21st April 2018 - 6.30pm 

On the week that marks 75 years since the discovery of Bella's remains, join us for an evening of all things Bella - including drama, poetry, music, an expert Q&A panel and a film screening... all in one evening!  With speakers promising to share some BRAND NEW information in relation to the mystery, this looks set to be a fascinating and entertaining evening for all.  There will also be opportunities to buy Bella inspired books, DVDs and CDs throughout the evening.  ANYONE WITH AN INTEREST IN THIS LOCAL MYSTERY SHOULD COME ALONG!  Tickets £8 each available from the Box Office on 01384 812812 or www.boroughhalls.co.uk

INDIE BLACK COUNTRY MARKET, Ruskin Glass Centre, Wollaston Road DY8 4HF, Saturday 21st April, 11 - 5pm, £1 entry.

A four-way mash-up of really nice things! The Ruskin Glass Centre, Street Food Affair, Midweek Movies and The Bohemian Bazaar vintage & arts fair will be joining forces to bring a lovely day to Stourbridge. Encompassing all things independent and a little bit different, Indie Black Country will be a delight. Bring the kiddiewinks for a special screening of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (bags of suck from Teddy Grey's) there will be top nosh brought to you by Street Food Affair, resident artists and workshops doing their thing at the Ruskin Glass Centre and a mini vintage and arts fair. Bostin!

Minkey Boo Productions will be producing a historical film called Harry's First Day 1844, all about the Stourbridge glass industry - in association with the Red House Glass Cone. The community project will begin in Sept and filming with be in late Oct with post production continuing (to recreate 'Old Stourbridge'. The film is about the first morning at a glass cone for a young fella (Harry) and will be premiered at the next Stourbridge Glass Festival. (Aug 2019). 
After that, footage from the film will be used as part of their learning resources and to up-date there public presentation at the Cone. Harry's First Day will need up to 40 extras - to appear in costume and in addition to the glassmakers who will be taking part we are also asking people who used to be part of the industry to take part in the glassmaking. There will be public liability insurance of up to £5million pounds during the shooting and a professional safety officer and safety policy in accordance with current safety statutes.

We will also need people to help with the production - e.g. making sets, helping with costumes at a sewing bee and for Prost production, publicity/publishing and as hosts at exhibitions to be held at the Red House Cone and at the Glass Festival for the premier. 

Minkey Boo is already becoming a thriving community on Facebook where members will be able to get in touch with each other and social events will be set up. It is for everyone- able bodied, disabled- the socially isolated. It is to be hoped that this film project can make a difference to many lives, giving people more confidence and a greater community spirit. Come and find out more-
