Investment confidence in Stourbridge is at an all time high

At a time when the doom and gloom of the economy seems to be slowly fading it's great to see Stourbridge bucking the trend. There must be very few towns of similar size in the West Midlands that are enjoying the levels of investment that we are seeing here in Stourbridge.

Here's a few of the key projects, several of which you will already be well aware of:

  • £73 million - The Crown Centre and Town Square
  • £3.1 million - Mary Stevens Park lottery funding work starting in January 2015
  • £5 million - Heritage Museum at the Red House Glass Cone
  • £9.5 million - Premier Inn and Brewers Fayre, Birmingham Street
  • £3.5 million - New block at King Edwards College
  • £6.5 million - Revamp of Stourbridge College Hagley Road campus
  • £1 million - Unit 3Sixty skate park
  • £TBC - KFC/MacDonalds
  • £8.5 million - Lion Medical Centre
  • £6.5 million - Stourbridge Transport Hub

 

£100 million invested in Stourbridge

That totals well over £100 million of investment in the town, very encouraging news. In addition to this, shop vacancy rates have fallen dramatically too within the town, new retailers including:

  • Mean and Green, Ryemarket
  • Fair and Square, Market Street
