Old postcards of Studley Court, now Mary Stevens ParkWe are indebted to Paul Banner for sending these images of Studley Court. His grandfather, Thomas Kearn, worked there around 1915 - 1920. Over the years it had various uses, including a military hospital in World War One and later as a girl's school, which it was at the time these photos were taken. Eventually it was bought by local businessman Ernest Stevens and given to the people of Stourbridge as a public park in the 1930s. As you can see, the building itself is virtually unchanged and is now used as offices by Dudley MBC. I am trying to work out where the farm and sanatorium was - does the building still stand and if so where is it? Back>> |
